City of Clovis Landfill sits out on Auberry Road and is where folks take loads that won't go in curbside bins. Contractors, haulers and residents drop by here for big cleanups and construction debris. The place is unmistakable - big trucks, dirt ramps and wide open tipping areas.
Drive up to an entrance booth and a weigh scale - most people stop at weigh-in, drive up to the tipping area, then stop again to weigh out because charges are by weight. The site is large with compacted dirt roads, working machinery and exposed cells where material gets buried; commercial trucks are common. Expect to be directed where to unload and to see separate spots for recyclables or green material at many landfills in the area. Weekends and seasonal cleanups can create queues, so lines are a real thing here.
Learn how to properly dispose of common items.
