Chicago Grade Landfill is the big landfill out on Homestead Road in Templeton where both pickup loads and larger haulers drop off trash. Locals, contractors and commercial trucks all use it; expect the usual mix of vehicles and heavy equipment on site.

Dust can kick up on windy days and pickup trucks share the same lanes as big rigs. Because California requires a lot of diversion, be prepared that organics and recyclables may be handled separately at facilities in the area.
