Benton Sanitary Landfill is the local burial site for household and commercial trash serving Swall Meadows and the surrounding area. Residents, haulers and contractors drop off loads here when curbside pickup or the transfer station won’t take something. It’s a working landfill with a scale house and a visible tipping face rather than a neatly landscaped facility.
Drive up to a scale house on the entrance road where loads are weighed and tipping fees are charged by weight, often with minimums for small residential drops. After the weigh-in, proceed to the active dumping area and unload onto the tipping face amid piles of compacted material and cover soil. Weekends and spring-cleanup season tend to be busiest, so expect lines at peak times. Commercial loads are accepted but are handled and billed under commercial terms rather than as residential hauls.
