Transfer Station

Badger Transfer Station

m469, Badger, CA 93603

Small transfer station just outside Badger that locals use for household cleanups and small contractor loads. It’s the kind of place people go to when driving out to the county landfill isn’t worth the extra time.

Pull up to a single entrance booth and be prepared to pause there; a scale sits nearby so expect to stop again on the way out. The yard looks industrial - concrete pads, roll-off boxes and a compactor, with trucks coming and going. Drive into the lanes to unload and follow cones or painted arrows for traffic flow. Weekends get backed up, especially during spring cleanup season, so lines are common then.

Before You Go

  • Cover and secure loose loads before leaving home; wind and passing trucks can turn an open load into a mess in minutes.
  • Be ready to separate organics from regular trash - California has strong organics-diversion rules and many transfer stations expect that.
  • Avoid weekend afternoons if possible; early weekdays or late afternoons tend to move faster. Bring gloves and sturdy shoes for walking around the yard.
