American Avenue Landfill is the main landfill out by Kerman where local haulers, contractors, and some businesses bring material to be buried. It’s the kind of place used for big loads that won’t fit in curbside cans, and commercial trucks use it regularly.
Drive up to a gated entrance and there’s typically a weigh scale and an attendant booth - trucks usually get weighed so fees are based on weight. The site is large, with big dirt-and-trash piles and heavy equipment moving material, so expect slow-moving vehicles and dust. After weighing in, drivers are directed to a dumping area and then weighed out again before leaving. Lines can form on weekends and during seasonal cleanups, so there can be wait time.
