Jackson County Landfill

Jackson County Landfill, 2069 Jackson CR-265, Amagon, 72005, Arkansas

Jackson County Landfill is the county landfill out on Jackson CR-265 in Amagon, where locals drop off household garbage, trailers and commercial loads to be buried. The place is more open than a little transfer station, with room for bigger trucks and trailers. People from town and the surrounding farms use it when a regular curbside pickup won’t do.

Drive up to a scale and an entrance booth - tipping fees are generally charged by weight, so expect to be weighed. After the scale, follow the drive to the active dumping area; roads are mostly gravel or dirt and can be uneven. Recycling or drop-off containers, if present, usually sit near the front while the main cells are set back. Weekends, especially during spring cleanup, can get backed up so there may be a line.

Before You Go

  • Tie down and tarp loads before leaving home - loose trash blows off and costs time at the site.
  • Be prepared to stop on the scale twice (in and out) and have vehicle/trailer ready to dump to keep the line moving.
  • Avoid rainy days if possible; the access roads and tipping areas can get muddy and slow things down.
