Yavapai County Transfer Sta

20994 Stanton Rd, Congress, AZ 85332

(928) 427-3876

Yavapai County Transfer Sta is a small transfer station serving Congress and the surrounding desert communities. Locals drop off household junk here so large trucks can compact it and haul it out to a distant landfill. It’s the kind of place used when driving all the way to a regional landfill would be a half-day trip.

Drive up a short access road to an entrance booth and wait your turn in the pull-up lane; there’s usually a scale on the site so expect to stop again on the way out. The yard is functional rather than neat-paved areas for dropping loads, a couple of roll-off containers, and a compacting area where trucks shove material into larger trailers. Signage and traffic flow tend to be simple: pull in, tell the attendant what’s in the load, then follow directions to dump or place items. Weekends and seasonal cleanup times can get backed up, so lines are common at peak times.
