It’s the final spot where trash gets buried and some topsoil is handled, and both small household drop-offs and commercial loads visit regularly.
Pull up to an entrance booth and you’ll likely be guided to the scale-most landfills here charge by weight so expect to stop twice: once in and once out. The site is large and open, typical of desert landfills, with dirt roads and piles of cover soil and debris visible from the entrance. Recycling or drop-off bins tend to sit near the office area, and commercial trucks usually have a separate lane or area to unload before private vehicles pull in. Plan for dust and sun exposure; there’s little shade around the working faces and haul roads.
