A small transfer station tucked off W Country Club Drive that locals in Heber-Overgaard use when driving to a distant landfill isn’t convenient. Mainly residential folks and contractors drop off compacted loads here before they’re hauled out to a larger landfill. It’s the sort of place you stop at when a pickup bed or trailer is too full to haul all the way out of town.
Drive up to an entrance booth where attendants will direct traffic; there’s usually a lane to pull up and a separate lane for exits. Trucks and pickups tip into bays or chutes and the material gets compacted before being loaded out to a landfill elsewhere. There’s a scale on site so vehicles are weighed on the way in or out, and expect some noise from compactors and dump trucks. Recycling bins are often set off to one side near the entrance, and weekends tend to be busier during seasonal cleanups.
