A local transfer station in Flagstaff where residential and light commercial loads are dropped off, compacted and hauled out to a landfill elsewhere. People from town come here when it’s quicker than driving all the way to a regional dump, especially for weekend projects or yard cleanups.
Pull up to an entrance booth/scale area and be ready to drive through lanes that separate cars and small trailers from larger trucks. There’s a concrete tipping floor where trucks or bins are emptied and compactors/loaders move material into transfer trailers. The site is open and dusty at times - shade is limited - and during busy weekends lines can form with a mix of pickups and roll-off trucks. Recycle containers are usually set off to the side so those dropping off recyclables don’t have to wait behind general trash traffic.
