Salt River Landfill

4660 N Beeline Hwy, Scottsdale, AZ 85256

(480) 941-3427

Salt River Landfill is the big burial site out on N Beeline Highway in Scottsdale that locals and contractors use when something can’t go to curbside pickup. It handles large volumes, so expect a working landfill rather than a neat transfer station. As a landfill of this scale, it typically handles both residential drop-offs and commercial loads.

Pull up to an entrance booth and you’ll see the scale nearby - this place charges by weight, so vehicles are weighed as part of the process. The site is open, dusty and shaped by large dirt cells and compactors; trucks and roll-offs are common sights. Traffic can back up on weekends and during seasonal cleanups, so there’s often a line for the booth or the drop-off area. Expect to maneuver around heavy equipment and to follow staff directions for where to dump.

Before You Go

  • Cover loads with a tarp for the drive out to avoid debris on the highway and to keep things contained while waiting in line.
  • Bring a load plan: know which part of your truck or trailer holds specific materials so dumping is quicker when directed where to drop.
  • Allow extra time on weekends and during spring cleaning; commercial traffic and bulky-item haulers can create slow-moving lines.
