Republic Services La Paz County Landfill

26999 Hwy 95, Mile Post 128 Mile Post 128, Parker, AZ 85344

(928) 916-1256

A working landfill on Hwy 95 that locals from Parker and surrounding areas use when their trash cans or pickups won't do. Open pit, big enough to take commercial haulers as well as neighborhood drop-offs, and it sits out in the dry desert so dust is a thing. The site is run by Republic Services and handles final burial of solid waste rather than transfer or recycling only.

Drive up the long entrance road and pass a small scale house where vehicles are weighed - tipping fees are charged by weight, with different rates for residential and commercial loads and typical minimum charges on small loads. Pull past the scale toward the active cells and follow staff or signs directing where to unload; the property is mostly graded dirt and compacted cover, so expect loose gravel, wind-blown dust and open working areas. Recycling or drop-off bins, if present, tend to sit near the entrance next to the office; weekends and seasonal cleanups often bring more traffic and slower lines.

Before You Go

  • Bring something to cover or secure loose loads - the desert wind stirs up dust and can spread debris from uncovered trailers.
  • Approach the scale slowly and be ready to stop twice: in at the weighhouse and again leaving after dumping, since charges are weight-based.
  • Use a truck or trailer that can handle unimproved surfaces; the access road and unloading areas are usually gravel and can get rutted after heavy use.
