(480) 983-9100RAD - Phoenix Waste and Recycling Facility is a local recycling center in south Phoenix that people bring household and small commercial recyclables to. Neighbors, DIYers and folks clearing out garages use it to keep things out of the desert landfills.
The site is fairly large with a drive-up entrance and an intake booth where vehicles stop before moving in; there’s a scale on the way in and another on the way out so loads are weighed. Recycling drop-off areas are grouped by material - paper and cardboard, metals, glass and most common plastics - and the rows of open-top bins and roll-offs are easy to see from the drive lanes. Weekends and spring-cleanup periods get busy, so expect a queue and some dust since Phoenix’s dry climate makes things gritty. Vehicles generally pull up, offload into the appropriate bin, then drive back over the scale to finish.
