Los Reales Landfill at 5300 E. Los Reales Road is Tucson’s large municipal landfill where household cleanups and commercial haulers bring material to be buried. It’s used by homeowners doing big cleanouts as well as local contractors hauling commercial loads.
Drive in and you’ll see a scale and an entrance booth; landfills like this operate on a tipping-fee structure, usually charged by weight, so expect to be weighed. The site is big-plain dirt mounds, heavy equipment moving around, and lots of trucks and pickups. Pull up to the booth when directed, unload where told, then go back over the scale for the final weight. Weekends and spring cleanup season can be busy, so there are often lines.
