Huachuca City Landfill at 600 Skyline Drive is where most of the town drops things that won’t fit in the regular trash pickup. Residents, landscapers and local haulers use it for oversized or bulky material. It’s a working landfill - the final place trash is buried, and fees are usually handled as tipping fees based on weight or per load, with commercial loads billed differently.
Drive in off Skyline Drive and watch for the entrance area and the scale where loads are weighed; expect to stop there on the way out as well. After that there’s a place to pull up to the working face or a dumping pad where trucks and pickups unload, with compacted dirt piles and heavy equipment around. The site looks like layered mounds and earth berms more than a tidy recycling center; if recycling containers are available they’ll typically sit to the side of the main drop-off.
