Read more →Gray Wolf Regional Landfill is the big burial site out on Hwy 169 in Dewey that both households and haulers use when smaller transfer stations won’t do. It’s a regional-scale landfill, so expect it to handle commercial loads as well as residential drop-offs. The desert location shows - lots of open sky and dust at the edges of the property.
Drive up the long approach and there’s a scale house you’ll pass to get weighed, so plan on stopping again on the way out. The site looks like large capped and active cells - big dirt piles, heavy equipment moving around, and wide paving where trucks pull up to dump. There’s usually a booth near the entrance and a clear path for larger roll-offs and dump trucks to maneuver. Wind and dust are noticeable on dry days, and lines can back up on busy weekends or seasonal cleanup times.
