Read more →Graham County Regional Landfill is the big burial site just north of Safford where local households and businesses bring trash that can't be recycled or dropped off elsewhere. Locals, landscapers and small haulers use it for final disposal; it looks like a working landfill rather than a civic drop-off with lots of traffic and machinery.
Drive up a short private road to a security/entrance booth and a visible scale - tipping is done by weight, so expect to cross the scale in and again out. The site is open, dusty and mostly compacted dirt and cover material piles; trucks and loaders are moving around, so take it slow. Commercial loads are accepted, and there’s a clear route for larger trucks to pull up to the tipping area and back down the working face.
