Cactus Landfill, out at 22481 East Deep Well Ranch Road in Florence, is the local burial landfill people use when a load is too big for curb pickup. Contractors, haulers and neighbors bring anything that needs to be buried rather than recycled. Like most landfills of this scale, tipping fees are charged by weight and commercial loads are normally accepted with different billing for haulers.

There’s an entrance booth and a scale to drive over; vehicles are usually weighed and fees are calculated by weight, so expect to stop twice. The site is open and dusty with large dirt mounds and places to dump - watch for slow-moving trucks and trailers. Pull into the lane for weighing, then follow the signs to the drop area; there may be separate lanes for commercial trucks. Weekends and spring-cleanup times fill up fast, so lines are common.
