(256) 882-0155Solid Waste Disposal Authority Household Hazardous Waste Facility is the county solid waste spot in southwest Huntsville that locals use for curbside overflow, yard debris, and odd household disposals. Regular residents and people hauling small trailers drop by here when city pickup won’t do. The site sits on a fairly large lot off A Cleaner Way and looks like a typical transfer/collection yard.
There’s an entrance booth and a gated driveway where vehicles line up on busy days; plan on a short wait if it’s a weekend or spring cleanup. A scale is common at facilities like this, so expect to stop twice if the site charges by weight. Recycling containers and yard-waste piles are usually visible from the approach, with specific drop-off spots scattered around the lot. The surface is mostly paved with gravel sections and clear signage pointing to the different drop areas.
